Alex's family farm, Finca Filadelfia, was founded in 1870 in response to an economic crisis. My great-great-great-great grandfather, Manuel Matheu Sinibaldi, was one of the first farmers in the area to start growing coffee and later came to London to sell his first harvest. He then was comissioned by the government to grow one million coffee plants and teach neighbouring farmers how to grow them.
Fast forward 150 years later, Alex started Rascal in 2020 - providing exceptional Guatemalan coffees sourced by my mother and sister.
